| Overview:
Stable organisations are run with sets of rules and procedures. There is an explicit emphasis on imposed discipline, on controlling individuals, on conforming. The guiding principles are choices made by management on how best to run the business. In change-responsive organisations, being sure about the best way to operate is no longer possible. It is more important to acknowledge the existence of opposite and equally valid demands and to find ways to manage them. This is the art of managing paradox. |
