In a hierarchy, the manager often sees himself as macho, decisive and indispensable whereas in an empowered organisation, his role is supportive, hands-off and facilitative. Some managers have difficulty making the change. They think they can do all the work left to them on Monday and then ask themselves: so what do we do on Tuesday? |
